Daniel Polk ’96

Dan graduated from Texas Maritime Academy at Texas A&M University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation. After graduation, he spent approximately ten years progressing through the ranks, working on Mobile Offshore Drilling Units in the Gulf of Mexico and off the Brazilian coastline.
Dan holds a United States Coast Guard, Master for Any Gross Tons upon Oceans, as well as unlimited Barge Supervisor, and Ballast Control Operator. He also holds dynamic positioning operators certificate #1454.
The last ten years, Dan has been ashore working in exploration and production driving safe, reliable, and efficient operations in many facets of the upstream sector. He has supported operations activities in Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, Angola, North Sea, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Georgia, & Sakhalin.
Dan is currently the Marine Operations Manager for the contracted mobile offshore drilling units around the globe for an exploration and production company. Dan lives west of Houston in the ‘Energy Corridor’. In 2000, he married Victoria and is the proud father of two children. Dan and his family are active in their church and the Boy Scouts of America.
