Sharon Norwood ’12
Sharon earned her Bachelor of Science in Maritime Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2012. Since graduation she has developed a background in LNG project development and shipping operations.
While earning her degree she began working for Excelerate Energy as an Engineering Intern with the project development team in 2011 and progressed into her role as a Project Engineer after graduation. She provided technical support for the LNG regasification import facility under development in Aguirre, Puerto Rico as well as the proposed Floating LNG export facility in Lavaca Bay, Texas.
She is currently developing her experience with LNG shipping and cargo operations through her role as a LNG Freight Operator with Shell. She is directly responsible for the day to day tasks associated with Shell’s LNGC fleet and liaises daily with the LNGC Masters, boarding agents, and the vessel owners.
Sharon resides in Heights with her husband and two pugs. On her free time, Sharon enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and trying new restaurants in the area. From time to time, she and her husband like to visit their favorite spots in Galveston from when they were students at Texas A&M.
